Dongfeng Motor Corporation, represented in the UAE by MAHY Khoory Automotive, officially introduced the all-new Dongfeng 007 Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) at the Electric Vehicle Innovation Summit (EVIS) 2025, held from April 21 to 23 at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi. This unveiling marks a bold step forward in the UAE's push toward cleaner, smarter transportation and supports Ride.Rent's mission of promoting sustainable mobility solutions.
The Dongfeng 007 EREV boasts a jaw-dropping combined driving range of up to 1,200 km, thanks to its dual power system. It features a 28.39 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery paired with a 1.5-litre petrol engine that functions as a range extender. This setup ensures long-distance travel without range anxiety, making it one of the longest-range electric vehicles currently anticipated in the UAE market.
Powered by a 160 kW (215 hp) electric motor delivering 310 Nm of torque, the Dongfeng 007 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.2 seconds—striking a balance between sustainability and performance.
Inside the Dongfeng 007, futuristic design meets premium features. Highlights include:
PILOT Advanced Driving Assistance System
Facial recognition for unlocking doors
20-speaker WANOS surround sound system
64-colour ambient lighting
Flip-up instrument cluster inspired by supercars like the McLaren 720S
15.6-inch infotainment screen for seamless control and connectivity
The cabin is finished with antiviral leather and piano lacquer trim, adding a layer of luxury and hygiene-conscious design that aligns with the expectations of Ride.Rent users.
With its liftback silhouette and aerodynamic profile, the Dongfeng 007 stands out in a crowd. Key dimensions include:
Length: 4,880 mm
Width: 1,895 mm
Height: 1,460 mm
Wheelbase: 2,915 mm
Drag coefficient: 0.209 Cd
Flush door handles, frameless doors, and a retractable rear spoiler give the car a futuristic and refined appearance that’s perfect for Ride.Rent’s eco-conscious clientele.
Saj Jabbar, General Manager of MAHY Khoory Automotive, emphasized the strategic importance of this launch: “We were proud to debut the Dongfeng 007 in the UAE, a car that represents a perfect fusion of performance, innovation, and environmental responsibility.”
The launch aligns with the UAE’s clean energy initiatives and Ride.Rent’s broader vision of offering sustainable, long-range electric vehicles to forward-thinking drivers across the Emirates.
Although UAE-specific pricing and delivery timelines are yet to be confirmed, the Dongfeng 007 EREV is expected to be competitively priced. In China, the vehicle starts at around 131,600 yuan (approximately AED 66,000), suggesting a similar price point could be anticipated locally.
